THE MILESTONES OF POLOMOLOK CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Polomolok Central Elementary School (PCES) developed a
School Based Management using a vision-based and data-driven process called Vision-to-Action
that is developed by the School Head, School Planning Team and the School
Governing Council. In addition to containing the strategies, our school and community
identified as key in raising pupil’s achievement and closing gaps in our school, this plan contains strategies
that meet the expectations of the school that “No Child Shall be Left Behind” of the EFA 2015, and it
continues up to the present where its vision, mission and goals stated that all
school children must be in school.
“Polomolok Central Elementary School
believes that by providing a strong foundation in basic content knowledge,
skills, and attitudes, pupils will become confident, self-directed, life-long
learners. Since, pupil’s holistic development is the primary focus of the
school, the PCES motto "Teach the Mind, Touch the Heart" is evident
as the dedicated teachers and staff continually work toward a positive
child-centered, child-friendly and drug - free environment.
The school’s SPED Center develops the potential, functionality,
independence and self-worth of pupils who have mild mental handicaps, visual
impairment, autism, hearing impairment and learning disabilities. On the other
hand, gifted pupils in various intelligences are also catered for the
development of their maximum abilities. The parent and community involvement is
special at PCES. The Parent/Teacher Association is very active and supportive. It
encourages the school’s participation in different academic contests, religious
activities, and feeding program. Parents at PCES are the backbone of the
school.
The present school administration under the leadership of,
Mrs. Hiyasminda C. Diolanto, who was installed last April, 2015 has numerous achievements
made for PCES. Recently, the school was awarded first prize in the conduct of
Search for Best Implementer for Child Protection Policy Program, Gulayan sa
Paaralan Best Implementers, Provincial Level, 3rd place for the Most Innovative Brigada
Eskwela Implementers 2016, Regional Level, and participated in the National
Research Congress. It also garnered different academic and non-academic awards
which put PCES as top performing school in Polomolok West District, South
Cotabato Division and in Region XII as well.
Furthermore, PCES is implementing various programs that hone
the skills and talents of all the pupils enrolled for the year. The different classes
are handled by competent teachers who have undergone training and seminars in
their respective subject area of specialization.
The learning environments of PCES is characterized by
equity, balance, freedom, solidarity, and non-violence in order to develop the physical,
mental and emotional health of the pupils. These lead to the development of
knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, morals so that children can live together
in a harmonious way. It nurtures a child friendly school.
Polomolok Central Elementary School attained
its mission in creating an environment that is conducive for learning by sustaining
the best practices for all programs, projects and activities all throughout the
years. It’s because of the collaborative efforts of all educational
stakeholders, the local government unit, private companies, parents and pupils.
Their time, effort, resources and commitment made our school successful.
